Tipos de abonadoras

At present the abonadoras are necessary to satisfy the high demands of the population. With the help of fertilizers we can increase the amount of nutrients in the soil and obtain very high production levels. These are used in fruit trees, vineyards and even other types of crops. Currently the fertilizer spreaders have evolved and some are still not clear what types exist and how each of them works.

What elements does a fertilizer spreader have?

A fertilizer spreader consists of 4 main elements:

  • Hopper: lowers the total center of gravity of the machine and facilitates the exit of the fertilizer.
  • Distribution: it is a tube that oscillates or several discs with pallets on which the fertilizer falls from the hopper. This element is driven through a hydraulic motor or through the PTO of our tractor.
  • Dispenser: is the element responsible for determining the amount of fertilizer that falls from the hopper to provide the optimal dose.
  • Drive: they are driven through a tractor wheel, the power take-off or from two wheels carrying the machine.

Once the elements are clarified, which you will surely know, we will tell you about the 3 main types of fertilizer spreaders.

Different types of fertilizer spreaders

There are 3 different types of machines, the use of one or the other will mark the type of exploitation.

Fertilizer spreaders

They are characterized by being simple, with a low capacity of work. They usually have a basic mechanism and the working width is usually not greater than the transport. Distribute the fertilizer evenly and you can improve the working width of the same with different mechanisms such as a grid, chains, etc.

Centrifugal spreaders

They are the most used. They are also simple but stand out for their low cost and achieve a homogeneous distribution of fertilizers, especially when working with granulates. The fertilizer falls through a trapdoor and then there are disks, or a rotating tube, which is responsible for distributing it to the full width of the machine. They tend to be very homogeneous and get better working widths if they are double disc.

Pneumatic fertilizer spreaders

And finally, although more advanced, are the pneumatics. They manage to reduce the doses of fertilizer without renouncing the level of homogeneity. They achieve work widths of up to 24 meters and are very similar to pneumatic seeders.

The diffuser distributes the microgranules uniformly and in the direction that we choose. They are usually very efficient, although much more expensive. Normally we see this type of fertilizer spreaders in large farms, because they work with much less fertilizer and are equally efficient or more than any of the above.
