ITV Agrícola 2018

The new regulation in the ITV of 2018 has not only brought changes for cars. The new rules that have come into force have also modified the periodicity of inspections of some agricultural vehicles and you should be aware. If you do not want to go with the expired ITV, it is best to observe what changes have affected you.

Of course, if you have an agricultural vehicle you can continue passing the ITV in one of the mobile stations that are moving through the different rural areas. The majority of agricultural machinery such as agricultural and forestry tractors, wheeled or tracked, harvesters, brushcutters, power tillers, mowers, wheel loaders, etc. You can use this service.

What documentation should you take to the ITV?

To attend your appointment of the ITV you will have to take the driving license, the technical inspection card or certificate of vehicle characteristics, the compulsory insurance and the agricultural inspection card. Of course, first of all you should consult the calendar for your autonomous community this year.

Here you can see the next mobile ITVs that will be in Galicia.

How often does ITV have to pass an agricultural vehicle with the new ITV?

Until now only vehicles with more than 8 years had to pass the ITV but this has been modified for some of them, which can travel at the highest speeds.

Tractors with agricultural or forestry wheels with a maximum speed exceeding 40 km / h (factory)

These are the vehicles that undergo a change in the periodicity of agricultural ITV, passing the first inspection at 4 years and not at 8 years as before.

  • Up to 4 years will be exempt.
  • From 4 to 16 years will have to pass the ITV every 2 years.
  • With more than 16 years they must attend annually.

Other agricultural or forestry tractors, automotive machinery (except for the 1-axis), special trailers, towed machines and tractocarros

The new regulations do not affect the latter since they will continue with the same periodicity as always:

  • Up to 8 years will be exempt.
  • From 8 to 16 years they will have to go every 2 years to pass the ITV.
  • With more than 16 years they will have to pass the ITV every year.

It may seem normal, but many will not know that ITV should now pass every 4 years instead of every 8 years as before. It is important to know that the new regulations have entered into force this year and will be in the next course when the stations have to be adapted to 100%. Of course, now drivers can choose another ITV to pass the second inspection without interest. What do you think of the new rules?

Surely this new measure has been adopted to avoid accidents with agricultural vehicles that circulate faster and should be in a better state for the safety of all. It is not usually a group with many accidents but when there are the consequences are disastrous.
